Guy joined HBA Consulting after more than 20 years working in senior Human Resources roles, including at the SES level, across a number of agencies in the Australian Public Service. He is a leadership and people management coach, a human resources expert and an engaging presenter and facilitator. He has a breadth and depth of experience and has worked closely with C-Suite Executive teams to deliver organisational change and transformation outcomes.
Guy has particular strengths in the areas of individual, team and leadership coaching, human resource management, performance management, capability development, enhancing team dynamics and establishing effective communication in the workplace.
Guy has led the redevelopment of agency performance management systems at both the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). This work included the redesign, implementation, education and training sessions and evaluation of the new systems. He has also trained and coached managers in successfully addressing and resolving underperformance situations.
At the ASC, Guy led the ASC Values project which involved whole of organisation consultation workshops to develop a new set of organisational values. He is very experienced at helping teams understand and agree what the values mean to them and how these translate into behavioural expectations in the workplace.
Team communication for improved performance and engagement is one of Guy’s strengths. He has facilitated countless team workshops where the focus is on establishing clear expectations, improved communication, and resolution of conflict in a healthy and productive way.
An experienced Executive Coach, Guy is uniquely qualified to work with the regional manager, supervisors and People Branch to enhance communication and leadership behaviours in the workplace. An accredited practitioner with Human Synergistics, Guy has access to a range of diagnostic tools that will help leaders move towards a more effective and constructive management style.
