This broad range of services and advice had its origins in a specialist industrial advisory service that was built from the ground up by Des Heaney and Paul Blaylock when they established HBA Consulting in 1996. At this time, the significant industrial relations changes being implemented by the Howard Government meant that all organisations were required to review and adjust their industrial relations approach frameworks and operations to an environment that included an emphasis on enterprise bargaining and included individual agreements via Australian Workplace Agreements.
From this initial primary focus on industrial relations advice, HBA Consulting began to broaden its services, focusing next of the provision of workplace investigations and performance management advice.
Today, the suite of Human Resource Management advice and assistance is much broader, and HBA Consulting now has senior consultants located in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. Consistent with the approach taken from day 1 to recruiting people to work for the company, all of the current HBA Consulting team have decades of senior level Human Resource Management experience, across the public, private and not for profit sectors.
